Lathallan School (est. 1930)is located a 25minute drive south of Chaptelon. It is an award-winning independent, co-educational day and boarding school offering Nursery, Junior and Secondary education in the North East of Scotland.
The school’s 19th-century castle, boarding house and facilities are within 60 acres of leafy grounds, providing unrivalled outdoor learning opportunities for nursery, junior and senior pupils between the ages of 6 months and 18 years.
Lathallan is the only all-through school in Scotland to have been awarded the Gold Learning Outside the Classroom Quality (LOtC) quality mark, and was awarded UK Small Independent School of the Year in 2021.

We partner with Stonehaven Cycling Club who organise the routes for the event. Since its inception in 2015, the club has grown rapidly and has now over 200 active members, of all abilities, making it the fastest growing cycling club in the country
Elsick Development Company (“EDC”) was set up by the Earl of Southesk to promote the development of 634 hectares of land, owned by his father, the Duke of Fife, and a further 204 hectares owned by neighbouring farmers. The company’s objective is to deliver the new town of Chapelton, ensuring that results are consistent with the town’s masterplan.
Trinity Frameworks is a small friendly independent bike workshop based in Newtonhill offering servicing, custom bike and wheel builds, and advice. Mike is a certified Cytech technician and will be at the Chapelton Bike Ride on the day to assist with any emergency repairs, advice or simply to talk bikes!
